Tell us a little bit about the decision for your wedding day look.

My husband and I dated for 10 years prior to actually getting married, so over the past couple of years leading up to our wedding, I was definitely eyeing up many styles of wedding dresses.  I had seen Linyage dresses probably 2 years before actually trying one on for myself.  I continued my search/daydreaming, and more often than not, when people asked me what type of dress I wanted I would turn to linyage for a picture and say "this kind!".

After our engagement, my besties wanted to go dress shopping with me, and we set up an appointment at a local bridal shop.  I went into the day thinking and telling everyone, "I just want to try some on and see what style I feel most like me in!".  There were some real stunners, one in particular that I truly did like, and that made my girls cry.  I will tell you, I wear my heart on my sleeve and i'm a sucker for emotion.  I was, at the time, feeling like I had found "my dress".

I ended up purchasing the dress, and when I left the store I just had a terrible feeling in my gut.  I knew as soon as I walked out of the store that it wasn't right.  Quite a pricey mistake to make (oops) I was unable to return/exchange the dress, but was determined to figure out a way to find the right one for me.

So interesting! We wonder how many other brides feel this exact same way. Tell us what happened next.

Enter: The White Room and linyage.  I told my mom and sister I just had to go and try on a linyage dress during their trunk show that they were having at TWR.  I hadn't heard much about TWR, but when I walked into the shop, I knew these were my people. Hugs! So many hugs and smiles! Carmen then introduced me to you gals and it just felt like it was where I was supposed to be.  I had THE most positive experience working with Carmen and the Linyage team, and as soon as I tried on the dress, I felt like me. It was something that was going to be created just for me, and it was so fun to be able to be a part of the entire process.  I absolutely loved the fact that it would become something that I could wear again, and it really set the stage for me as we went on to plan our wedding.

When setting the stage for the overall vibe of your wedding, how did that come to be?

When making wedding planning decisions, Joe and I knew we wanted to stick to who we were.  We tend to both feel quite uncomfortable with formality and attention. We are the kind of people that feel much more at home when we are outside, in the woods, without cell service, and wading in the river in search of out fishing one another. We chose to get married at The Enchanted Barn because of how simply beautiful it was.  It didn't need a lot of decorations, it simply spoke for itself.  It had a lot of outdoor space, a bonfire pit, and best yet - allowed us to have woodfire pizza for dinner! I felt the same way when I first tried on the Linyage dress.  It was a dress that I could let my hair down in, and still feel the most beautiful and confident I have ever felt.  It didn't need a lot of accessories, and allowed me to run around barefoot outside and tear it up on the dance floor with my loved ones!

tell us about how your dress made you feel like YOU!

Joe's reaction to the dress on our wedding day was something special.  He had actually met Lindsay at Sarah at an event The Enchanted Barn hosted.  It was an event for all future couples getting married there that allowed us all to do food tasting together and showcased some of the venue's favorite vendors.  Lindsay and Sarah had a few samples there and Joe ended up seeing the style of their dresses.  On our wedding day when we first saw each other before the wedding, one of the first things he said was "I had no idea it would look like this on you!".  Through tears, he went on to repeat this a couple of times, which boosted my confidence before walking down that aisle with a bunch of eyes on me (not my favorite thing) :)

I can't tell you guys how many people came up to me throughout the day complimenting me on my dress.  It truly allowed me to relax into my own skin and enjoy all of the emotions the day brought.  I didn't think twice about having to adjust it, or being concerned that something wasn't sitting right.  I cannot thank you guys enough for how much confidence wearing this brought me, and the stress that that took away on our wedding day.
