FAVORITE THINGS

LESS IS MORE - I'm reeeeaaallyy intentional about my purchases. Like ZERO impulse buying over here. Whether it's clothing, skincare or kitchen gadgets I do my best to choose products that are clean / eco-friendly and have (or promote) a long lifespan!

Some favorite things I have * invested * in (key word) may have a higher initial spend however it’s countered with either longevity, preventative health benefits or is a more environmentally friendly choice! (huge bonus for me)

kitchen (food is medicine)

Gadgets that support my wellness habits or make things a lil' easier or fun!

(Cause let's be real, choosing healthy habits is A LOT of work).

MY JUICER: It’s no secret that I’m a daily juicer - GREEN QUEEN at her finest! After my diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis I leaned into FOOD AS MEDICINE. Integrating more color and greens into my days to support mitochondrial health has been an absolute game changer. This JUICER has become one of my top favorite things. I am a busy gal, I live in a small space and I tell ya, this baby is small and efficient! If you’re getting started on your juice journey - this is a low investment juicer that is simple to use and clean. (If you need some juice recipes to get started, I’ve got my go-to here)

Supporting Juice Cast \\

Glass Straws: Reusable straws are CLUTCH for daily juices and smoothies. Not only comfy to drink from but eco-friendly (and we love that!) I like these clear glass cuties so that I can actually see that I’m getting all the ‘green’ out.

Ball Jars: BIG jar girl. The person who’s buying all the vintage blue ball jars at antique stores? Yeah. That’s me. STORAGE my friends. Not only do I drink my juice and smoothies out of these jars daily, they make great on-the-go containers, I batch cook soup and freeze in jars for easy meals, hold your dry goods to keep them lasting longer (and mainly aesthetics if I’m being honest).

Popsicle Molds: LEFT OVER JUICE - after pressing there’s alway juuussssttttt a lil’ too much to fit into a 12oz drinking glass. The answer my friend!? POPSICLES! Healthy lil’ treats to stick in the freezer for later. These BPA free popsicle molds are one of my FAVORITE gadgets and so fun for the kiddos to experiment with different flavors.

Fridge Storage: If you’re a juicer you inevitably house A LOT of produce. I keep my green juice supplies organized in these clear, stackable storage bins which not only makes my refrigerator look great but I can easily grab and see what needs restocking on grocery day.

clothing

Eco-friendly athletic wear, sustainable denim and basics worth investing in to build a capsule wardrobe.

Girlfriend Collective: Those matching eco-friendly athletic sets ‘Sporty Linds’ lives in… yeah, this is it. I wear them to the gym, yoga, out-and-about, and lounging at home. LIVE in. (Pssst… get 25% off your first purchases here)

5 Reason’s I love Girlfriend: 1) Made from recycled water bottles. THAT was the initial hook - the earth friendly aspect. The packaging is plastic free and eco-friendly, as well! 2) The COLORS offered are amazing - the fact that they fit into my (very) limited color palette speaks volumes. A variety of natural tones and brights that evolve seasonally. 3) The styles are comfortable enough to have changed my mind about wearing biker shorts and crop tops as street wear (I know, I know, I swore I’d never go there. But I’ve been seen around town so I guess the secret’s out). 4) Super sassy and inclusive branding! Gotta love that! 5) Employees make a living wage.

Check, check aaaand check! All in all SUPER happy with this eco-friendly active wear and highly recommend trying them out.

Personally I’m a big fan of the lightweight FLOAT fabric. I own the Juliet Strappy Bra and the Run Short AND Ultralight Leggings in multiple colors.

So again with the LESS IS MORE - I’ve purchased 5 of these sets over the last 4ish years so I’ve *invested* in about a set a year. I machine wash them and hang to dry which helps garments live longer because a dryer can weaken the fibers. You see me outfit repeating GIRLFRIEND COLLECTIVE all throughout the week, so I can vouch that this brand holds up to heavy wear (and dancing)!

Reformation: Where my uniforms come from… ie. denim and various white tees. Look no further for sustainably made women’s clothing that covers all the bases!

I love knowing where my dollar is going. The REALLY cool thing about REFORMATION is that they are super transparent about their operating practices. They are eco-conscious from production to packaging. Reformation track’s their carbon emissions, guarantee fair wages and prioritize low waste production. All of the clothing is created from low-impact materials, rescued deadstock fabrics (i.e. the fabric that other companies are throwing away). They start with small quantities of each product and only make more based on demand.

I am personally hooked on the Farm to Butt Denim. Not only are they my go-to jeans, they are fiber trace meaning you can follow the entire production journey by scanning a QR code! I know, super dope right?!

I invest more into the few items I do buy, choosing well made things that will last longer. I purchase only one pair of ref denim a year, a couple white tops and maybe a dress and they continue to live in my closet on rotation (and plan to indefinitely). As you see from my repetitive 'Ref Uniforms’, they wear well.

When shopping for clothing I take seasonality into consideration. Living in the midwest we have all four seasons, I try to only purchase things that can be worn cross seasons with layering and pieces that mix and match into my existing wardrobe. The neutral color palette is really intentional because it creates a capsule wardrobe that can be intermixed. LESS IS MORE!

Red Wing: One of my favorite investments have been my Red Wing Heritage Boots. These bad boys were purchased based on longevity. They’re lifers. I clean and weatherize my boots seasonally and the soles can be replaced so they can truly grow with you. I own the Classic Moc for kickin’ around in and The Clara when I want to feel a bit more elevated! I’ve had these kicks for many years and they are going strong!

**TIP - if you’re in the midwest, check out the annual warehouse sale in Redwing, MN!

Lack Of Color: It’s no secret I’m a HAT GIRL. This is my go-to brand that has proven to wear the best for the price - I clearly wear them everyday so case-in-point (I’m jonesin’ for a Custom Montana Territory Hat but I’m not quite there just yet). I own The Rancher in no less than THREE shades of brown, but they have lots of rad styles to choose from!

athletic gear (movement is medicine)

Equipment I've 'invested in' that makes daily movement accessible (and fun)!

Yoga Mat: This yoga mat is super grippy and withstands daily movement on my living room floor or the yoga studio!

Free Weights: There are SO MANY movements you can do at home with 2, 5, and 10 pound dumbbells. As someone who works from home, I find taking movement breaks really effective for my energy levels. Five minutes or one rockin’ songs worth of squats here and there is a great way to integrate weight training!

Snowshoes: Getting outside every day is a goal of mine - Wisconsin WINTER’s makes it tough - but these have made it easy and fun! (Along with proper warm layers). Snowshoes are an underrated and SUPER approachable way to enjoy the outdoors during snow season! Like easy peasy. Grabbing a pal and exploring trails on snowy afternoon is something I seriously look forward to.

PADDLE BOARD\\

If you haven’t heard me rant and rave about my LIFE CHANGING experience with this stand up paddle board I’ll divert you here to read all about it! (I’m 100% serious. HUGE game changer.)

I absolutely LOVE paddle boarding. It’s a great way to get outside, get moving, and be social (or mindful depending on the goal). I highly recommend an inflatable. It just makes it easier to transport, store and keep in the trunk of your car for those impulsive pull over to the side of the road paddle sessions! (YES that will be you once you’re hooked). There are lots of great boards out there at different price points but this 11’ Atoll Board has my heart. It is super easy to inflate using the hand pump that is included, effortless to transport - it comes in a backpack - and is super stable (I have YET to fall she says with fingers crossed).

clean beauty

Ultra clean products that ACTUALLY show results?! YEP! After my Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, I took an environmental toxins test and was surprised how many toxins I tested positive for. I have become hyper aware that what goes ON your body goes IN your body. We're keepin'er clean folks!

Primally Pure: Not only is this skincare line SUPER clean - like you could probably eat it (but don’t) - it has diminished the dermatitis I was experiencing seasonally since puberty and MY SKIN HAS NEVER LOOKED BETTER! (Which is important because I shy awayfromm makeup.)

They have skin specific products so you can pick and choose based on your skincare needs and a quiz you can take here to help direct you! Easy-breezy baby. I use the sensitive skin regimen but if we’re REALLY HONEST, I only do the full regimen maaybeeee once a week/face mask is really a special occasion (which makes the products last longer).

My go-to’s:

-Baby Bar for cleansing (I double cleanse with an oil cleanser a few times a week)

-Soothing Cream as a moisturizer

-Everything Spray as a toner

-Baby Balm ** fave hack ** - I use this for eye cream or extra dry spots in the winter and it’s amaze.

-I Gua Sha religiously every morning to promote lymphatic drainage and reduce fine lines and puffiness. It’s so fun to see the instant results. If I gua sha one side of my face at a time you can actually see the visible results right away from one side to the other—it’s bonkers.

And did I mention the deodorant?!? An all natural deodorant that works?!? It’s true. And I sweat A LOT. It gets me though my long workdays and my workout routines. This is seriously one of their best sellers and it’s for a reason.

Okay…I could talk about this skincare line / my morning and evening routines for hours but hopefully this gets you started!

Among The Flowers:

ALL THE LAVENDER PLEASE! Lavender is my jam. Among the flowers serves it up in a BIG way - all of their scents are natural and equally lovely. Among The Flowers is my go to for my scent and my hair products.

The Lavender Sage Whipped Body Butter has me hooked - the consistency is absolutely lovely, moisturizing and honestly I wear this as my scent.

I use the Lavender Waves Hair Mist on my tendrils. This sea salt spray adds great texture to my waves. HUGE FAN of dry shampoo… If you’ve met me, you know I’m honest about the time lapses between hair washes. Enter dry shampoo. THIS is my go-to. I actually love the powder form, it’s light weight, the container shakes out an appropriate sprinkle and it’s compact enough to keep in your gym bag, travel bag, fanny pack… I mean it’s very convenient and manages my mane between watering.

books + podcasts (mindfulness is medicine)

REALLY big into self growth - nutrition, mindfulness, habits, business - wellness based books that have impacted my body and mind. ( PS I admittedly listen to many of these on audible while I’m stitching or getting my movement it. While I think ‘actually’ reading and picking up a book is important, learning while I’m multitasking is what fits best in this season.)

PODCASTS:

Health: The Doctor’s Farmacy, The Art Of Being Well, Organic Olivia

Mindfulness: Ten Percent Happier, Pulling The Thread, Move With Heart, Dear Gabby

Business: Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield, Goal Digger Podcast, Bossbabe, The Jasmine Star Show

Random: Dolly Parton’s America, Stuff You Should Know, Crime Junkie

MEDITATIONS/MINDFULNESS:

Insight Timer: I use this free app for an evening meditation every. single. night. I usually end up falling asleep to it (but that’s kinda the goal for me). A giant library of body scans, soundscapes, and guided meditations to use as tools.

Morgan Harper Nichols: The Storyteller App sends a daily my affirmation straight to my phone that is accompanied by beautiful artwork, thoughtful prose, a word of the day AND a journal prompt. I MEAN. I schedule mine for 3:00 every day (my witching hour)… one of those little things that make a BIG difference in your alignment.

wellness

Wild Rice Retreat: The place we LOVE to fully immerse ourselves into wellness or have a lil’ reset when we are able to indulge. This magical hideaway in Bayfield, WI has quickly become our home away from home. We’ve collectively done so much healing in this magical space. Read more about our stay here…

Let us paint the picture. Sauna (where we actually live when visiting), cold plunge (just do it, we dare you), daily movement and wellness classes, meditation pod, moss covered hiking trails (if it’s not apparent to you already, I’m obsessed with moss) ... I knoooow, it already sounds like our heaven! BUT TO TOP IT OFF they provide THE most nourishing meals that are locally sourced and made to your dietary restrictions.

Highly recommend grabbing a few pals and planning a visit if you are able!
